This week, over 200 of Canada’s top pre-novice and novice skaters, including a team of 12 from Newfoundland and Labrador, will take to the ice at the Skate Canada Trophy RBC Centre in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Scheduled from February 5 to 8, 2026, this national event merges the former Novice Canadian Championships with the Skate Canada Challenge – Pre-Novice/Novice.

Skate NL team members will be represented by skaters competing in Singles, Pairs and Ice Dance inluding;

• Novice Women: Jasmine Wheadon, Conception Bay South Skating Club
• Pre-Novice Men: Jonathan Flynn and Carson Wang, Mount Pearl Paradise Skating Club
• Pre-Novice Women:
