Over 300 figure skaters representing skating clubs and schools throughout Newfoundland and Labrador will participate in the Skate NL 2026 Provincial Championships (Weekend 1), to be held February 13-15, at the Clarenville Events Centre in Clarenville. For many STAR 1-4 competitors—across Singles, Ice Dance, and Synchronized Skating disciplines—this event represents their most significant competitive experience to date.
The STAR 1-4 program is an exciting part of the Skate Canada competition system that introduces young figure skaters to competitions. The philosophy of the STAR system is based on the principles within Skate Canada’s Guide to Long-Term Development (LTD). This guide provides the optimal framework for how young skaters should experience their first events and competitions.
The dedicated Local Volunteer Team from the Flying Blades Skating Club look forward to welcoming all skaters, coaches, officials, skating family and friends to their rink and community.
The competition begins on Friday, February 13, at 3:30 p.m. and will conclude on Sunday, February 15,at 2:15 p.m.
The event will also be available via webcast on Dailymotion
