More than 225 figure skaters from across Newfoundland and Labrador will compete at the Skate NL 2026 Skating Championships (Weekend 2) being held from February 19-21 at the Joe Byrne Memorial Arena in Grand Falls-Windsor.
The Provincial Championships are a season highlight for athletes in STAR 5 and higher Singles, Special Olympics Singles, Pre-Novice Pairs, and STAR 4/5 and above Ice Dance categories. The event also serves as the qualifier for the 2026 Atlantic Canadian Skating Championships, which are set for March 27–29 at the Paradise Double Ice Complex.
The competition begins on Friday, February 20, at 10 a.m. and wraps up on Sunday afternoon, February 22.
The Sparkling Blades Skating Club is excited to host the skaters of Newfoundland and Labrador, their coaches, event officials, and the extended skating community and looks forward to welcoming everyone to their home rink and community for an exciting weekend of skating.
