
Skate Newfoundland and Labrador congratulates the Open Starlites of the Mount Pearl-Paradise Skating Club (MPPSC) on winning the Silver medal at the 2026 Skate Canada Cup in the Open Category, achieving a team-best performance score of 211.06. They placed second in Free Skate #1 and first in Free Skate Program #2 to finish in second place overall with a total score of 211.06. The Open Starlites Free Skate Program score of 110.59 was the highest in the competition. Podium finishers included Nova, QC (211.62), Open Starlites, NL (211.06) and Les Supremes-Open (201.63).
The 2026 Skate Canada Cup saw 45 synchronized skating teams and 750 skaters from across the country compete for national titles in the Novice, Gold, and Open categories. In addition to the Mount Pearl-Paradise Open Starlites, NL was represented by TP Inferno from the Trinity-Placentia Skating Club in the Novice category, Eastern Edge Synchronized Skating Club’s Fusion Gold and Open, and the Mount Pearl-Paradise Skating Club’s Starlites Gold.
